What next?

Well, let's start with this weekend.  I thought I'd have the opportunity to head out and ride.  Saturday was spent doing household repairs involving the hot water heater.  You'd be amazed how little you want to get sweatier than you already are by heading out on a jaunt.  Not to mention that not having hot water until 930pm last night took all wind out of my riding sails.  I crashed out early, but Bruce went to the basement to turn off a light, thank goodness... he splashed down in the steady flow coming out of the hot water heater.  He tried to mess with it to no avail... Then we come to this morning, the peach of not only this weekend, but we've also been told, the next 7 days!!!  Rain! for seven days yay us.  So until noon was spent, you guessed it... not riding in the sunshine, but messing with the hot water heater, getting some donuts/coffee, discussing options, messing some more and finally getting the steady flow out of that silly valve to a drip.  Guess that'll be a thing later.

So we went out cause I really did want some biking shoes before I started up.  I don't have clipless pedals or toe cages, but I thought perhaps having some stiffer soles would do me some good.   I went to REI and chose some Pearl Izumi X-Alp Low shoes.  I'll give 'em a shot what the heck. I came on home and instead of the grocery shopping I shoulda done, I rode inside on the indoor trainer for 45 minutes.  My new shorts and shoes didn't seem to hurt.  I won't likely see improvement until I am fitter and finally really hit the road, but I guess only time will tell.

I don't see how you manage to ride without clipless pedals or cages. If you got htem, you'd be a speed demon.

Speed demon on my bike? Ahahahha, I'm soo much closer to the ground. Wait, maybe that's a good thing, less time to contemplate what's about to happen.
